The Rising Stars in Management.

Next season the world of management will be without one of the greats, Sir Alex Ferguson. Pep Guardiola will embark on a new challenge and Jose Mourinho will return to an old one. There’s been quite a large shake up in the tactics room this summer but last season saw some new faces arrive on the scene whilst some still haven’t been recognised by the wider world. There are many more than the ones I will mention in this article but the ones I have chosen are set for the brightest managerial career in my opinion.

Frank de Boer

Probably the most least know on the list but one of the best. The forty-three year-old dutch man is currently the manager of Ajax and has been since the 6th of December 2010. Before de Boer joined Ajax they had not won the league for six years. In the three seasons he has been manager Ajax have won the Eredivise three times. He has been instrumental in the development of world-class and future world-class players. He has guided the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Maarten Stekelenburg and Gregory van der Wiel to have successful careers both in Holland and in other, top European clubs. de Boer was also the assistant manager for the Dutch National Team during the 2010 World Cup campaign which saw the Oranje reach the final.

Michael Laudrup

The Danish manager is not a new name for football fans. He is widely regarded as one the best players to grace the pitch and had a very successful playing career which saw him play for the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid. The midfielder was given his first opportunity at management from Brondby and since then has spent a few years in Spain managing Getafe and Mallorca. It was last season though when Michael Laudrup announced himself as a manager to the world. The Dane showed a very keen eye for transfers and bagged what is widely regarded as the bargain of the summer when he bagged Spanish goal scorer Michu. He lead the Swans to Wembley and won in the Capital One Cup final to mark his first season in charge with a trophy and was subsequently linked with other jobs, even Real Madrid at one stage. The future is certainly bright for Laudrup if he continues in this vain.

Vitor Pereira

Vitor Pereira is a forty-four Portuguese manager who’s currently in charge Liga Portuguesa Champions Porto. He has led Porto to two championships in two years and has an incredible win/loss ratio to back up his credentials. He has already been recognised as a top talent and was linked to the Everton job before it was handed to Roberto Martinez. Porto have a tradition of producing great managers with the likes of Andre Villas Boas and, of course, Jose Mourinho starting their managerial career with Porto so he’s following in their tracks at the moment just without European success.

Jurgen Klopp

Probably the most loved on the list is the eccentric German who currently managers Borussia Dortmund. His comedy and lightheartedness during his press conferences have stolen the hearts of the British media and many wishing that he can take over an English team. He has won the Bundesliga twice with his side and this season defied all odds and made it to the Champions League final only to be beaten by rivals Bayern Munich. His attacking style of play has gained many admirers over the past season. Klopp has a very keen eye for developing youth and bagging himself a bargain or two. He has developed the likes of Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels. He also captured the likes of Shinji Kagawa and Robert Lewandowski for next to nothing compared to their current value. “Kloppo” is certainly set for big things in management and when is current contract expires in 2016 I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go to a world-class team.
